hello from austria
hey!
I have been having an absolutely amazing time here in europe..i started my travels in London last weekend with my friend and his parents..i got to see london in a whole new way..we did the traditional english dinners and afternoon teas, it was so lovely and made me fall in love with the city even more..Monday i went to Nice and when i arrived it was beautiful and sunny..the next two days were cloudy but the last day there it was sunny and warm...it was a nice place to relax, i even finished an entire book there..i met a bunch of australians there and i hung out with them a bit, other than that i was on my own..but i enjoyed every minute of it..then i met two san diego guys one of them works in old town and he said he would give me a discount so i have somewhere cool to eat when i get back...the thing about traveling is you meet so many really cool people and it is just so hard to keep track of them all..hopefully facebook will keep me connected.
last friday i would begin my journey to munich (home of octoberfest)..my train was supposed to leave at 10am and go to milan connect to verona and then to munich..but things did not go as planned..my train to milan was last and i missed my other two connections..these were vital for me getting to munich..so basically to sum it up, i was stuck in verona by myself at the train station until 1 am for a night train to munich..i didnt get any sleep at all..and when i got to munich at 630 am i toured the city with full force..the funny thing was i decided to go check out verona and when i got there i realized i knew where i was..it was the place of romeo and juliet, where juliet's balcony is located..absolutely crazy that i remembered where i was and easily found her house and the opera house near by. and of course i got gelato, a panini, and pizza while in italy during that period of time...
Munich was so much fun..i felt like i was actually in the movie beerfest..no joke..the people there were so lively and would drink one litter jugs at a time of local beers..it was insane..along with the beer gardens which were everywhere and full of loud and lively characters. we also saw the crazy sights where hitler was almost murdered, and where he began his walk to berlin to take over the country..it is crazy how much history was there..i wanted to make it over to the concentration camp nearby but i only had a day..next time though..if anyone wants to go let me know!!
this morning i took a train from munich to vienna where i am now!...i met a guy in munich who was thinking about traveling to austria..i convinced him so today i had a travel buddy! we walked around the city but hopefully tomorrow i will go on a full tour so i can learn the history and efficiently see everything..
tuesday morning i go to london for the last night of my trip and i will be home in the desert by 7pm weds night..its exciting, but also a bit scary to go back home after doing things so differently here..anyways i will talk to you all soon..byeee

i am really lazy and busy writing another paper for class..i am done with class on thursday! and get to hang out in england till monday and then head over to the french riviera for a few days then munich and vienna..if all goes well that is my plan...i am traveling alone which isn't ideal but the guy i was going to travel with kept screwing me over so i am taking on europe myself..ill be back in san diego in 18 days!
in Ireland we went to Dublin, Cork, and Blarney Castle
Blarney Castle was so much fun! the gardens and forests around it were beautiful and we spent hours around there climbing trees, exploring caves, frolicking and taking a bunch of funny pictures..i really loved ireland and the pub we went to was one full of a ton of locals, not tourists. it was amazing with live music and lively characters, guinness, baby guinnesses, drunk people, and us..we taught some people how to line dance..it was definately good times..the crowd was pretty old though haha we definately stood out amongst the 30 and 40+ year olds..haha oh well it was incredible..
us in the circle of rocks that is thought to keep the evil spirits out
us frolicking like fairies(well more like crazily jumping)
us pretending we are on broomsticks in the witches kitchen
and of course we went to the Guinness Brewery

Prague pictures
are up! go look! The city was beautiful and nearly everyone spoke english and was really nice..also the exchange rate was wonderful!
friday we took a 6 hour city tour for 900 krowns =45 usd..which included
1 hour river cruise
a 3 course czech meal
a tour of the entire city
a ticket for a ghost walk
it was amazing! so the vegetarian specialty there is fried cheese! like woah..i love cheese but that was just weird..it literally was a block of cheese fried like mozzerella sticks..it was actually quite tasty but i felt like if i lived there i would die within a month of a heartattack..seriously eww haha so greesy and so fatty..it makes me glad to be back in england haha
the jewish quarter was really cool we went to the cemetery which had over 100,000 people buried there..but it was so small...they would lay a layer of pottery down and then bury people in layers..kind of creepy but it was really cool..
alright well i would say more but i gotta get ready for Othello at the Globe in London..i leave in 30 minutes..byee

The rain does not end...
The entire country is nearly flooded! And we picked a bad weekend for travelling...
So last friday we decided to go to london and then saturday - monday we would hang out in the Beatles home town of Liverpool. The usually one hour trip to london was severly delayed...it ended up taking us over 8 hours to get to our hostel in london..trains were delayed and cancelled while we were one them as well as once we got into london the underground was nearly all closed due to flooding..it was madness. We made it to our hostel to find out that it actually wasnt the right one we were supposed to be going to! yeah not so good..they messed up with giving us directions. But we finally made it later that night. We found a bookstore and reserved harry potter went to the movie theatre next door which was playing really old movies well movies that are already out of the theatre in america. and we saw oceans 13 to pass the time. Then we got Harry Potter! woohoo..
The hostel was miserable we slept in our clothes because it was too much of a hassle to rummage through our stuff when we would be leaving there in 5 hours anyways. Saturday morning we head to liverpool we were actually lucky and the trip by train to liverpool only took us 3 hours!..When we got there it was raining and would continue to do so the entire weekend. But that didnt stop us! On saturday we went to the Beatles Story which basically showed the history of the beatles, with original and recreations of the yellow submarine, the cavern, mathew street, John & yoko's white room, the plane they flew on to america, and so much more. The next day we went on the magical mystery tour and visited all the Beatles' old houses and sites that were relevant to their lives and lyrics. That was a ton of fun and we would have never been able to see any of it on our own because of the rain..
Here are some of the pics!

so..
Pictures are up from amsterdam and i will update this blog once i am done with my 3000 word paper..byebye
ok so yeah i finished my paper a really long time ago but got too busy with other stuff to write..but no worries im back for a bit..well a couple days haha..
so who would have thought we would have ended up at the police station in amsterdam..it wasnt too fun..oh before you start thinking what i know you must be thinking, we were there to report a crime. we got robbed by the people at the heineken experience. We checked our bags so we didnt have to hold them through the museum and stupidly didnt think to take our money with us..and the staff at the establishment stole our money total between two of us over 200 dollars.. i was luckier that my friend i only lost 40-50 euros and she 90. That was definately not so much fun.
Overall we enjoyed the trip. Amsterdam was a bit disappointing, it nearly was only sex shops, coffee shops, or food. It got old fast basically. I mean we did do the whole space cakes and coffeeshop thing..
..we kind of thought we were missing something else. The city with the canals was beautiful the rain didnt make for a nice strolling enviroment. I definately enjoyed being able to visit Anne Frank's house which is now a museum, that was amazing. The van gogh museum was pretty awesome too we saw another one of the sunflower paintings which was different from the one we had seen in London.
We took a canal city cruise and it was wonderful to see the city that way. The houses and buildings are nearly all crooked and some leaning on eachother. It is realy cool as you can see from my pictures..
Everyone there owns and rides a bike to get around. There is even a bike parking lot which holds thousands upon thousands of bikes.
while getting robbed at the heineken experience wasnt so cool..the place really was awesome..they had this one room in which you could pretend you were a dj and control the music and lights in the room and videos on the screen..
And last but not least, the food was great! we found this amazing falafel place which we ate at twice because it was so good! On sunday in the rain we found this pancake house which was absolutely amazing. It was adorable you had to walk upstairs to get to the room and there were 3 tables and a mini kitchen in the open. These two guys sitting at one seated us and they cooked our food..it was so handmade and i ordered apple juice and it was fresh! like freshly squeezed apple juice it was crazy. of course we went there for their danish pancakes which are a bit thicker than crepes with a bit of a different taste. I ordered a banana and chocolate pancake and this is what i got...

All about Paris & Brussels
this blog is not complete to check back later for more updates and videos!!
Im finally back at school again after a long weekend traveling about paris and brussels..i did soo much this weekend i don't even know where to start..
thursday-Paris:
So we entered france knowing one word of french but we somehow managed to make it to make it to our hotel/hostel haha..that was an experience..our room was in the attic with a window for air conditioning a bed to share..it was depressing..but it didnt matter much because we didnt spend much time there apart from sleeping and mid afternoon naps..thursday night we went to see Damien Rice at L'Olympia theatre in Paris..which was the best concert i have ever seen..the sound was absolutely amazing in there unlike any other venue i have been to!
Friday-Paris:
We were tourists visiting all the magnificent places, Notre-Dame, the Louvre, the Eiffel tower, and more (see pictures) haha..and while we were walking we saw a crowd of people and of course out of curiosity we had to find out what was going on. after finding an english speaker we learned that we were outside of Eva Longoria and Tony Park's wedding!! we didn't see much so we left and moved on to our next destination. When we were coming back from the Eiffel tower that night our metro ended before our stop so we didnt know where we were. so while looking at a map to try to figure out where to go some french guy came up to me and said something in french i didnt understand and told him i didnt understand and went back to looking at the map and then he tried to kiss me! ahhhh.....i starting swatting my arms around and he left and then so did we..while walking on the street we saw him again and he walked by an touched my hair...it was disturbing and we pretty much ran back to our hotel...good times kind of...
Saturday-Paris:
We went to Jim Morrison's Grave and walked around different parts of the city for hours! The food was so much better than england you have no idea! pastries, crepes, paninis, baguettes, and the best dessert we have ever had!!
Sunday-Brussels:
Getting to brussels wasnt too fun but we managed. once we got there we realized it was a sunday and not much is open on sundays in europe and also we had no idea what to do or where to go in brussels. we found a map and just hopped on the metro hoping to find something..we failed the first time but after a bit of wandering we found this cafe which served amazing combinations of pita sandwiches..i had a pineapple, apple, corn, salad, cheese pita which despite the odd combo was delicious...and not too soon after eating at the cafe did we discover the heaven that is belgian chocolate (free samples in every place..)..after buying samples from 4 different chocolate shops we found the waffles...haha..yes thats right real original belgium waffles hot off of the grill. they were probably one of the most amazing things i have ever ate in my entire life! And they smelt so amazing too..
mmm..chocolate euros!
and of course the waffles!
brussels was really beautiful and i wish i had more time to soak it all in..

Back at school
I had an amazing time in london this weekend and I am back at school. I came back in one piece but im super sick now, i blame it on the rain! but im sure the late nights haven't helped much.
London was amazing! the only downside was finding a meal for under $10-12 was almost impossible with a beer in a pub being around 6 or 7 dollars. I had english beer for the first time, it was weird though because its not cold! they serve it at room temp.
so i posted the pictures from london and they are on the link on the left called pictures from my trips!
Places i visited:
Buckingham palace, Abbey Road, Westminster Abbey, National Gallery of Art, The london Eye, Thames River, Harrods, Big Ben & Houses of Parliament
some touristy must haves:
Abbey Road (we failed this time but on other cameras its better..i even took off my shoes like paul!)
A phone booth outside of Westminster Abbey..what a combo
and in honor of Harry Potter we visited King's Cross Station to get to Platform 9 and 3/4
Look at the rest of the pictures! some of them turned out really pretty haha...
Ok so here is the deal on the terrorist threats here...The security alert is at its highest so I am being careful and will keep everyone updated as best as i can as to what is going on here...so far the attack at scotlands glasgow airport has only been assumed connected to the car bombs found in london on friday, but from all the press conferences i have watched it looks like they have a few definate things connecting the two. It is a bit scary over here and everyone is starting to freak eachother out by worrying so much. hopefully everything will calm down soon and there will be no more attacks.
Alright well i better get to bed!
Goodnight!

Pictures!
Hey! i have pictures up just click on the link on the left! The pictures are from monday night when i went to the pier in Brighton and had classic Famous English Fish & chips..they were good but if thats England's best food i am scared..haha
Last night we went to a night club "club zap" it was mostly filled with people from UC schools which was kind of a bummer because most of them got wasted and just made themselves look stupid..adding to the negative american image over here..but it was alot of fun i will post those pictures as soon as i get them from someone..tonight is the "pub crawl" haha it should be interesting but i don't know if ill make it because i have class tonight.
My class is really cool the title is "sex, drugs and Rock 'n' Roll..How the media has shaped the UK music industry~ or something like that we are going to go see the hold steady for a field trip..I can't really understand our professor(he has a strong accent and doesnt talk very loud) but he said something about working with bjork but that he left after a year because he had something else better to do, i wonder what could have been better. I have to make up a fictional band so if anyone has some good ideas for band names let me know!
Friday I am going to London to meet up with my sister for the weekend, she is on a high school tour so i am going to crash at her hotel rather than a hostel..yay! haha..alright well i will talk to you all soon..hope you're enjoying the california weather..i miss it..
bye for now

rain
yep its still raining...actually more like storming..57 degrees, rain, and wind in all directions. umbrellas really are useless here..i am stuck in this computer lab because it is raining so bad and californians never learn (there was some sun this morning so i wore flip flops..but now i think that was a horrible idea.)
so last night at the random gathering they had a free bar and free beer. needless to say we took advantage of it and the sun rising at 4:30 in the morning wasn't too nice haha. I need to go to the store today..the free food last night couldnt even be considered food it was so bad haha..i havent had a meal since the plane flight..and everyone knows plane food..so gross. This blog is soo boring i am sorry i am just attempting to waste time. I need to go find an adapter or converter that works my computer is almost dead and the ones i brought dont work.
goodbye for now

note to self: 24 hours of traveling is not fun
I made it!!!!
it took forever with the lovely delay in vegas..lets just say summer is not a good time to be stuck in vegas on a plane with no air conditioning for 2 and a half hours with fumes from someone's smelly cargo entering through the air vents. the cargo had to be taken out and all the luggage redistributed to even the plane's weight while everyone melts inside the plane..not fun
The time difference is 8 hours..which i a killer i have been up for almost 30 hours straight and just want to go to sleep the problem is its only 5:15 pm currently.Later this week i will add pictures.
So far my impressions of Brighton/England are:
1. it rains too much
2. its too cold
3. summer here is like winter at home
4. it is pretty
5. Britain tries to do everything different from everyone..and its not efficient.(i.e. in my room there is a sink, there are two faucets one hot and one cold so there is no such thing as warm water because you cannot mix the two)

New blog
OK, so i decided to get a new blog, one different from the one i'll be showing my parents. This way i can say things like fuck and shit and asshole, you know the essentials. Well, I am currently at home and its 100+ degrees out so i decided to hang out inside today and this blog is the result. I need to go buy a raincoat and shoes but I don't see that happening because it doesnt rain here so i don't know where to buy a raincoat. I would like to make a shoutout to Maria for being brave and coming home with me to the 110 degree heat..I feel bad for convincing her it would be super nice..im evil i know...Well everyone better keep in contact with me this summer and i will do my best to keep this updated as well. Have an awesome summer eveyone!!
